Joy to the.....

Is it really a Joy??
My first impression from my crazy mind of this picture was a continuation of the articles title, like "The Joys of Cycling.....and Bareback Horse riding".
The friend who sent me the picture because he wouldn't post it to FaceBook because he just needs to be a little more PC than I was thinking along the lines of, do Women get "Joy" out of their "Cycle"?
So the REAL question is, does Aunt Flo, like to Cycle and Ride Horses Bareback?

Hmmmmmm

Lawmaker wants to ban "Ex-Lax" fish
Hawaiian Butterfish can tear up your stomach

State Representative James Tokioka did some research and drafted a bill that prohibits catching, selling or even possessing walu in Hawaii.

"I talked [to] many people who sell fish, some of the hotel who [buys] fish, they are aware of it and they're not buying it anymore," said Rep. Tokioka.

Tokioka said people have shared their nightmares of severe diarrhea after consuming a large portion of the fish. The oily walu or Escolar contains a high-level of wax esters in its tissue that are beneficial to its deep-sea survival, but can be unkind to humans.

"I've never had it, but the people that I've talked to said you can't control it," said Rep. Tokioka.

Native Hawaiians called the fish Maku'u or exploding intestines. It is banned in Japan and Italy.

"I'm not one for banning anything but if it creates a public hazard a public safety hazard with many people than I think this definitely something that needs to have further discussion," said Rep. Tokioka.

Doctors are embracing the legislation.

"I think if restaurants can't police themselves or if they're the victims from suppliers it will just clean-up the process from A-to-Z and its really the consumer who will benefit," said Dr. James Ireland, Assistant Professor at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Dr. Ireland has treated several walu victims.

"One lady had such bad diarrhea she had an accident in her pants, an adult, her husband had to go the emergency room I mean it's pretty serious," said Dr. Ireland.

Rep. Tokioka said even if the bill is watered down to just requiring better labeling, he hopes more people are educated about the dangers of the fish.

Wedgewood Blue for me Thanks

So this week we saw a great thing happen on Facebook in regards to Breast Cancer awareness. Women were prompted to post on their status with a one word color description of their bra. I feel that we should not stop there when promoting the crucial awareness of various issues affecting people via the Facebook status box.
Here are some of my ideas (these ideas are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of ……) :

“STD” awareness: Men can post the color of the Condom they are wearing.

“Tramp” awareness: Women can post the design of their Tramp Stamp, i.e. Tribal, Floral, etc. Stamp Remover

“DoucheBag” awareness: Men can post a picture of the Ed Hardy shirt they are wearing.

“ED” awareness: Men can post which ED drug they are currently utilizing to take the “Skin Boat to Tuna Town”

“PMS/Time of the Month” awareness: Women can post whether or not their significant other or friends should actually speak to them for a week, something like “talk to me” or “don’t talk to me” that way fair warning is given.

“Dumb Blonde” awareness: Let us know whether or not you have locked yourself IN your car and can’t get out. Blonde Star

“You’re Really Too Old To Wear That” awareness: Post which tween store you shopped at for your Skinny Jeans and Layered T-Shirts, status update choices include, but not limited to, Hot Topic, Aeropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, etc.

“Your’re Really Way to Fat To Wear That” awareness: See Stores listed above for status update choices ^^^^^^^

For me, this is a start and we are only scratching the surface, but we really need to help get the word out on these issues and many other that are affecting our society! Can you help me? Can you spare the time? Do YOU know anything else we should be aware of?
Only you can prevent minds being a terrible thing to waste while doing some fundamental reading, with a headdress on and a small tear in your eye!

Speak Much?

On a trip to finish up some last minute shopping, I came to a very sad realization! People apparently do not know how to say PLEASE and EXCUSE ME anymore!! People seem to prefer to just run you over with a cart than to open their mouths and ask nicely if they can get by or need you to move so they can see something. I am sure most of us were taught proper manners at some point in life....at least I hope so!
I am not going to chalk this up to "Holiday Stress" because it happens all year long.
When did this start happening? I have my own theory, wanna hear it? No, well here it is anyway.
I think it happened when at some point in our adult lives that some of us stopped trusting in others and started making false assumptions that "The other person wants something in return" for our kindness and good manners.
I don't want to take you to Dinner and Breakfast.
I don't want your First Born.
I don't want your Money.
I don't want to drive your Car.
I don't want to buy you Drinks.
and God forbid we should have some sort of friendly conversation even if we don't know each other.
I ONLY want a little common courtesy.

The words PLEASE and EXCUSE ME are not hard to say, they only take a second to roll off the tongue, they are simple, they are non-threatening, and to the person you say them to, it shows that maybe you were raised right and have some manners.
Why don't you do your parents a favor and show other people that "YES" you were raised right!!
