So last Friday night, we dropped off the kids at my Moms aka "GiGi". Our plan for the night was to partake in some Adult fun (no not that kind) at the VB Funnybone with some friends, but that's another story.
Saturday morning rolls around, and my task after the late night and headache wore off is to pickup the kids from my moms.
I show up and get the usual DADDY!!! with my little one Meredith practically knocking me to the ground to give me a hug, all the while thinking did GiGi just let you out of a cage or something?
While the kids are gathering their stuff up, my Mom whispers to me "Conner lied about brushing his teeth last night!"
You see, to me this isn't a huge shock, how many of us got the brush wet to fake out ole Mom and Dad? Come on, you know you did it!!
But for me who could
NEVER get anything past my mom as a child I wondered how mom busted him, versus the many times she had busted me, I wanted to know if she had honed her craft over the years and was using any new strategies.
My next question to Mom, "So......how did you figure out he lied, did he just get the brush wet, run the water, squirt toothpaste into the sink, etc etc?"
"No" Mom says,
"Meredith told on him!" I asked Mom, "How did that go down?"
"Well, she came up to tell on him and I told her I would take care of him."
She also told Meredith that "No one likes a tattle-tale" to which Meredith replied in her I act like I am the Big Sister/Mommy voice;
"Well SOMEBODY had to do it!" Sniff Sniff......that's my girl!!
